The effect of different combinations of dietary energy and protein on the composition of ostrich eggs

چکیده
Abstract Nutrition of breeding female birds can influence egg quality and is therefore extremely important for the development of the embryo and the successful hatching of a high quality chick. We investigated the effect of combining different levels of dietary energy and protein, with accompanied amino acid levels, in the diets of female ostriches on the composition of their eggs. Ninety pairs of breeding ostriches were divided randomly into nine groups of 10 pairs per group in a factorial design with three energy and three protein levels. The groups were fed diets with levels of 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5 MJ metabolisable energy/kg, each combined with each one of three protein levels 105, 120 and 135 g/kg respectively. Fresh eggs were collected from each group at the end of the breeding season and the albumen and yolk separated and analysed for protein and lipid content and for amino acid and mineral composition. No significant interaction between energy and protein levels occurred. Despite some differences in egg composition and amino acid concentrations, different dietary energy and protein levels for the most part had little or no effect on the composition of ostrich eggs.

Comparative Study on the Effect of Different Feeding Regimes on Chironomid Larvae Biomass and Biochemical Composition
In this study, the effect of diet food (soybeans, egg yolk and chicken manure) on biomass weight and body composition (the amount of protein, fat, moisture and ash) Chironomid larvae were examined. For this purpose, 2.5 grams of food per Coconut considered in the period, with three replicates and Chironomid larvae during the period of 15 days in plastic pans were kept in nutrition. The results ...

study was undertaken to establish the optimum dietary indispensable amino acid (IAA) profile for yellow fin seabream broodstock based on the amino acid (AA) profile of broodstock, eggs and larvae of Acanthopagrus latus. Three isonitrogenous (40%) and isolipid (20%), named diets 1, 2 and 3 were formulated with different ratios of total essential amino acids per total non-essential amino acid...

Effects of artificial diets on growth, spawning performance, egg and larval biochemical compositions and quality of Acanthopagrus latus in the Persian Gulf were studied. Nine diets representing a combination of three protein levels (40, 50 and 60%) and three energy levels (22.5, 23.5 and 24.5 MJ GE/Kg) were tested in triplicates. Each tank was stocked with 10 fish with a sex ratio of 1:1 and wi...
